The therapeutic approach

Rooted primarily in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Trinity focuses on the attachment her client’s have experienced with their caregivers, partners, and other meaningful relationships in their lives. When working individually, Trinity will pay close attention to your upbringing and any significant relationships - past or present. When working with a couple, Trinity will focus on evaluating the current attachment style of the couple, as well as how childhood attachment wounds may be playing a role in the current relationship.

In addition to EFT, Trinity is trauma-informed, and also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

FAQs

Do You Accept Insurance?

No. There are a few reasons for this practice but most important is to protect your right to confidentiality. Once you have been given a diagnosis (which you must do in order to bill insurance), it will be a part of your record and can affect your future. It is your therapist’s preference to keep your sessions confidential and not attach a label to you that may show up later in life. You may ask for a Superbill at the end of each month that can be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement. The Superbill will include a diagnosis, which we can discuss together and figure out if that is the best option for you.

What Is Your Cancelation Policy?

Sessions must be cancelled no less than 48 hours prior to the appointment time. Any cancellations within the 48 hour window will result in the client being charged for the full session rate. If a client cannot attend session due to illness, a teletherapy session will be offered.

What Is A Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

How Does A Superbill Work?

The superbill reimbursement option is a way for you to utilize your out of network benefits through your insurance. You pay the full fee up front and at the end of each month, Trinity will provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company, who would then reimburse you their agreed upon amount. This option is not available for every insurance plan, so make sure you call your insurance provider to check what out of network benefits you have before the first session.

Do you have a sliding scale/reduced fee?

Do You Only Work With Couples Or Families?

Despite what the name Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) implies, an MFT can see anyone as long as they are operating within their scope of practice. For MFT’s their scope of practice consists of working with relationships and that can include a relationship with a partner, a friend, family member or even with yourself.
